In a post shared on its website, CIPA says the annual trade-show, which was supposed to take place from February 27th through March 1st in Yokohama, Japan, has been canceled ‘given there is no effective treatment or containment measures to deal with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).’

Mobile World Conference (MWC), the world’s largest smartphone exhibition, was cancelled earlier this week, leaving many wondering if CP+ was next. As now evident, those concerns were valid.

According to CIPA’s website, CP+ drew in exhibitors from 120 countries and nearly 70,000 visitors last year. No further information has been given at this time and as of publishing this no manufacturers have commented on the cancellation. We will continue to update this story as more details are revealed.
